As from January 2012 the European countries do not require any more quarantine for pets travelling between its countries which means no more wait period of 6 months before an animal can enter the UK or other European countries and no more going into quarantine kennels for 6 months on entry without a passport. The procedure from January will be a rabies vaccination and a microchip and then 21 days later the animal can fly into the UK or any other country including Ireland and Sweden (whose laws were similar to the UKs). This is fantastic news for the animals. No more excuses of people having to abandon their pets.
People who wish to rescue a stray cat or dog can do so easily now. We are more than happy to board your pet and arrange for the rabies and microchip and even put the animal on the flight to its forever home. Just email us for further information. Please don’t leave that poor thin cat/kitten/dog/puppy on the streets, it will be very lucky to survive, pick it up, call us and arrange for it to live with you in the UK/other European country, or even find it a home in the UK/other European country if you can’t take it yourself.
